Urakawa Inn

The bathroom was the best part of my stay. Though the facilities are older, the unit bath has been lavishly redone with marble on all four walls, a huge mirror and sink, and a roomy tub. It was spotless, with no mold or dirt anywhere, and I had a very pleasant stay. The room itself was a deluxe non-smoking single, but it had a strong, lingering cigarette smell, as if people had smoked there for years. That made me question the "deluxe" label. I also couldn't believe a business hotel supplied just one tea bag and a cup, with no coffee or more tea. Free lobby drinks seem common these days, so they could at least leave coffee bags. I really want coffee when I'm working.

When I come back to my hometown to visit my family's graves, I often stay at this hotel. I don't care for fish, so I ask them to make a small change to my dinner. Breakfast is unavoidable, haha. The staff service is decent too.

There weren't many shops nearby, which was inconvenient, but the staff were very helpful. I stayed one weekday night. The building is old but renovated, and the guest room bathroom in particular was very clean. Breakfast was a set meal rather than a buffet, with no choice of dishes. It cost 1,300 yen on top of the room rate and was just okay.

The breakfast came on a tray and tasted good. Inside, the historic-looking building has been renovated nicely and feels comfortable. The bath is small, with a tub about knee deep, but the toilet is unusually large, even compared with one at home. For a business hotel, the TV and fridge are both big. There's also a luggage rack, a single sofa and table, and an air purifier. The air conditioning is centralized. Wi-Fi barely reaches double digits, and videos aren't usable when things get busy.
