Seven House Urasoe

The location is good, but I couldn't sleep well. The night wind was loud, and being near a main road meant noisy motorcycles too. The email said the front desk was open from 3pm to 10pm. When I went at 9:30pm, nobody was there. I called the posted number and was told business hours were already over, which makes no sense. The shower temperature was really hard to adjust. There was a door behind the shower; even though it was locked, I felt like someone might come in, and it scared me. The balcony door was heavy and very difficult to open, whether because it was old or poorly made. The family room bed was normal, but the two futons were so thin they looked like prisoner's futons. There was a bad leak in the entrance during my stay, possibly because a pipe on the floor above had burst, and the response was very poor. The room was dirty overall, with some moldy areas.

I got a good deal on a room with two single beds. It was cheap, but towels and amenities were included. Parking is available if you reserve it in advance, and the washing machine is free, though the dryer costs extra. In the morning, you can see Route 58 (^^).

The stairs were the main drawback. There isn't an elevator, and with the top floor on five, carrying my suitcase up was exhausting. But there was a free water dispenser on the landing on the second or third floor. I got a same-day deal for two people and two beds at around 4,000 yen. I was only sleeping there during a layover, so it was more than enough. The room was cool when I arrived because they had turned on the air conditioner. It was cheap, yet had amenities, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. I also liked that I could smoke on the balcony or rooftop. I took a taxi from the airport, which cost 3,200 yen with the overnight discount, then 2,800 yen in the morning. It's right on the main road, so catching a taxi was easy. The nearest convenience stores, a Seven-Eleven and a Family Mart, were both about a six-minute walk away. I couldn't check in during reception hours, but it wasn't a problem since the key was in a box at the entrance. If you haven't paid in advance and miss reception, which opens at 7:00, you need to leave cash in the room before checking out. For a late arrival and early departure, it's a good idea to have cash on hand. I'd stay again ^ ^.

There isn't a front desk or an elevator. On the rooftop, there's a laundry shed with washing machines, dryers, and detergent, though using the dryer costs extra. Two bento shops with eat-in options are within walking distance. The place has changed names several times, perhaps because ownership changed: it used to be Hotel Banana House, then Condominium Hotel Rikka, and became Hotel Lapis Lazuli in March 2024. Maybe related to that, the Wi-Fi was out during my stay, and I only got an email about it on the same day. The bathroom smelled strongly of sewage, and black stuff came out when I ran hot water into my cup from the sink.
