We loved our one night in the porto paradiso view room, and the staff made the experience feel magical. The hotel’s decor, including the room, was amazing, and Disneysea was so close that getting into the park was easy. We chose this view to watch the night show and fireworks. The show was beautiful, but window reflections and the limited window opening made it a little hard to see. That makes sense for safety, and I think a front facing window would give a much better view. We couldn’t get in-room dining because it was all booked by 4.30pm, when we checked in. I wish we could have reserved it in advance or at the front desk. Even so, we enjoyed our first stay at Disneysea and would like to try others.

The nightly show through the small window was the one bright spot. Otherwise, this fell well short of what I expected from a premier Disney hotel. The rooms are the same as at tokyo disneyland resort, but cost 6x as much. There’s no quick service, and the onboard gift shop only carries dry goods like ramen noodles. The club lounge is laughable, with just candy and coffee. It was already 100% full when drinks service started at 5pm, and club guests were turned away.

So frustrating. I paid a lot for a vacation package and planned to use room service, but it was unavailable from 4pm for the rest of the day. The hotel says services are open, but they can be “sold out” 10 hours beforehand. I asked the front desk why it was closed two hours early, and they acted like I was stupid for asking. Early entry was another disappointment. The park opens at 9 and early entry starts at 8:15, but I arrived at 8:45 and was told, “sorry, early entry is closed.” It only seems to count if you arrive at the exact allowed time. The hotel store was very limited compared with other hotels, and direct park entry didn’t open until an hour after the park, so what’s the point?

The staff were easily the best part. They were fabulous, helped us navigate our vacation packets, and answered every question about getting around the parks. Early entry worked seamlessly and gave us a fantastic head start. The rest felt surprisingly average for an official Disney hotel. The rooms were comfortable enough but dated and need refreshing. We found the Hilton Tokyo accommodations far better. Breakfast was dismal, with repetitive choices, no live cooking stations, no character meet and greets, and not even Mickey waffles. Other than a complimentary tote bag, the property lacked the special touches I’d expect at this price. I’m unsure how it compares in value with other nearby Disney resorts; we found the Hong Kong Disney Resort properties far superior.

I stayed for 2 nights at the end of a 14 day Japan tour in January. Most of the hotels were 5* and felt up to the standard I’d expect in 2026, but Miracosta didn’t. The rooms need serious updating; not even a USB port in sight gave away their age. It felt as though the hotel expected guests to use the park instead of its own facilities, which usually need bookings and are crowded. The property seems to rely on its location and past reputation. The staff were genuinely polite in the Japanese way, though not especially efficient. There’s no bar or lounge unless you count the one inside the paid pool area. Food service in the park seemed to stop by 6-7:30pm, so there wasn’t a place to unwind after a day at the park. I’m glad I stayed once, but next time I’ll pick another resort hotel.
