That view and the location on Hamahiga are lovely, which makes this place such a disappointment. We had two rooms booked and explained that we were karatekas hoping to practice our katas on the deck, but we weren't allowed to use it at all. The hotel had six rooms and only three were occupied, yet we couldn't get a room that opened onto the deck. Almost every request was met rudely by the owners. Getting a coffee refill seemed like a burden, selling breakfast to our friend felt like an insult to them, and they wouldn't book dinner for five. Even using the paid laundry felt as if we were asking for a favor and causing trouble. The beds are rock hard, there are no complimentary tea bags or drip coffee in the rooms, the grass was badly overgrown, and the cafe was either closed or open at strange hours. It's a shame, since this is one of my favorite spots in Okinawa. I wanted my students to have a great memory, but they were all traumatized. I won't stay here or recommend it again. You can find much better hotels elsewhere on the island.

The older daughter was super nice and should run this place herself. I can't say the same for the owners, who I strongly believe only welcome Japanese guests. Any small request, whether paid or not, seemed to be met with disdain, and guests are restricted about where they're allowed to walk in the common grounds. Breakfast costs $18 and gets you less than one egg, cheap vegetables, and one small coffee with no refill. There are no tea or coffee refills in the room, no room service, and the restaurant is closed most of the day. We couldn't book dinner or use of the BBQ. Paddle board hire cost more than luxury accommodation in premium locations around the world. There were too many spider webs for my comfort. The Fawlty Towers of Okinawa.

Urara was a lovely host, and you can tell the owners and staff put a lot of care and passion into 413. We really enjoyed the breakfasts and the coffee too. We had a lovely stay and hope to see you again soon!

The sea views and food were great. There aren't many rooms, and they're quaint, with a backyard shared by everyone. It works really well for a small group of friends or family, as long as you don't mind the bugs around there because of the location.

We loved how peaceful it was on this little island, a bit away from Okinawa's touristy main island. You can relax in the garden or on your terrace and take in the beautiful ocean views. The family running the place are warm and welcoming, which you can feel throughout the stay. There's private beach access and plenty of lovely beaches nearby. This was easily our favorite place to stay in Japan. I can't recommend it enough.
