The price was very reasonable, and both dinner and breakfast were good for what I paid. The bed was on the small side, but it does the job if all you need is somewhere to sleep for a night.

It was a weekday deal: 7,400 yen for one night for two people, with two meals. Dinner was ham cutlets, simmered mackerel, rice, and miso soup. Breakfast came with rice, miso soup, a tofu burger, and a raw egg. The hotel's old, and the TV and other amenities are old too, but it's a reasonably priced place. Beppu is expensive for lodging, so we enjoyed the hot springs there and stayed here instead, about a 40-minute drive away. There are convenience stores, drugstores, and conveyor belt sushi nearby, so we didn't have any trouble. It's very close to Usa Shrine, which makes it an easy recommendation if you're looking for a budget option. It isn't suited to families with children, and there's no meal menu.
