The breakfast was excellent, and I hope the photo I attached gives you an idea of it. I had a pleasant one-night stay while bikepacking and would gladly come back. My room was comfortable, though there was a faint cigarette smell despite it being non-smoking. I suspect a previous guest caused it, so I didn’t hold it against the hotel or take off a star. I was also able to lock my bicycle securely to a gate in an enclosed area in front of the hotel.

We enjoyed our trip to Wakayama, but didn’t want to spend much time in the room. It smelled really bad because we’d booked a smoking room by mistake, and it was old, dirty, and moldy. Since it was Golden Week and the hotel was full, changing rooms wasn’t possible. Rates were expensive for the season. I was looking for a cheap place, so I can’t complain too much, though it was much older than I expected. Probably suited to budget travelers.

The location and price are very good. The room felt quite old, and cleanliness was so-so, but it wasn’t bad :)

We stayed on the seventh floor and had a spectacular view of the castle. The hotel is right beside it, and the price was reasonable. The room was simple, as you’d expect at a budget business hotel. We also found the secure indoor bike parking really convenient.

Everything else was fine, and you can request a castle-view room facing Wakayama Castle, which looks beautiful when lit at night. The issue for us was the temperature: during the cold season the air conditioning defaults to heat, and even with the heater off the room felt stuffy. I wish we’d been given the option of an air-conditioned room, especially since the window is sealed shut.
