I came here alone on a motorcycle tour from Fukushima. Finding the place on Google Maps was easy. At the ferry terminal I heard someone I'd met was staying here, so I booked on the spot without looking into it first. After booking I read some reviews and wondered what people meant by a hermit. When I arrived, the owner really did seem like a hermit, lol. Then, just as I was thinking, "Ah, so that's the hermit they're talking about...", the owner brought out a handmade sign to stop my motorcycle stand sinking into the gravel parking lot. I immediately fell for the owner, lol. This was my first stay in a guesthouse or private lodging, so I can't compare it with others. But if you just want a bed to sleep in, I thought it was excellent value. There was a private room, air conditioning, a refrigerator, a water heater, and coin laundry. They also provided toothbrushes. For an extra fee, there was an open-air Goemon bath the owner, or hermit, had made himself, lol. They apparently used to offer meal plans, but don't anymore, so you'll need to buy groceries. The nearest Secoma is 20 kilometers away, lol. I got to experience nature and an atmosphere I can't find in Fukushima, along with the inn the owner has devoted his life to making. It was my first time in Hokkaido, and YuYu Farm now accounts for 80% of how I picture Hokkaido. I'll definitely stay here if I visit again. One thing to mention: the floors outside the rooms have a distinctive smell. I'm allergic to cats, and when I first walked in, the smell made me think there must be cats around. There weren't any, lol. I wasn't sure what caused the smell, but I got used to it after a couple of hours. The rooms themselves didn't smell, so I think it's fine. Thanks for reading this poorly written review all the way through. I hope it helps. I can't come back right away, but I'll definitely visit again in a few years.
