We were left stranded and stressed when heavy snow kept our rental car, which had no winter tyres, off the highway. The rental company had run out of tyres and could only tell us to wait for better weather. The front desk team stepped in, making calls for us and using their local knowledge to reach a nearby workshop. They handled it calmly and efficiently, turning what might have ended our trip into a manageable problem. Earlier, they’d recommended a great local yakiniku restaurant and helped us get a reservation. The meal was a highlight. Their care was consistent, from that thoughtful suggestion to taking decisive action when our safety was involved. The team’s professionalism and genuine concern left us feeling reassured and grateful. We deeply appreciate them and would recommend Marriott Fairfield Hyogo Tajima Yabu to anyone visiting Hyogo.

I was worried by the Google Maps rating, but the place exceeded what I expected. Clean, modern, quiet, and close to two markets, with several restaurants an easy walk away. The staff were phenomenal and went beyond what I’d expected to make my stay perfect.

I kept coming back to the downstairs common room and dining space to heat my curry in the microwave and get hot water for tea or miso soup. The room itself was lovely and spacious, with a great shower, plus complimentary water bottles and fresh towels each day. The staff were so helpful, greeting us and seeing us off morning and night. My Japanese grammar and manners were probably awful, but they treated me really well just for trying to speak Japanese. I’ve missed the place since leaving. My wife wished there’d been a bathtub, but the room details had made that clear, so I’m not taking points off for it. I only wish there were more amenities nearby than Family Mart and the Tajima Agricultural High School bus stop. Still, a 20-minute walk to a reputable grocery store isn’t bad.
