The hamburger steak was the highlight of my Western-style lunch at Hyper Bowl Higashihachi. It’s not something you often find at a ski resort, and I really enjoyed it. There wasn’t much snow when I visited, but the meal was delicious. They also have a fun lottery curry, where the price depends on whether you win or lose. I’d like to try that next time.

You can stay overnight here, too, and the spot is right on the slopes, so it’s super convenient. The owner is funny and makes for good conversation. There are some unusual dishes on the menu, so it could be fun to drop in just to see what they’re serving.

The food was good, and I liked the atmosphere and music. But the place is extremely smoky, since they still allow smoking. That really ruins the meal. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who doesn’t smoke.
