Hotel R9 The Yard Yaita

I picked this place for its spot right beside Route 4 while visiting Nasu with my motorcycle. The location and price are pretty good, so I might come back if bad weather catches me out. I arrived well before the 3 pm check-in and asked the cleaning staff if I could park while I went to find food. They cheerfully said yes, which put me at ease. Check-in was simple, the staff were courteous, and the room was spotless. I had a beer at Bamiyan and was glad I could leave the bike in the hotel car park. You can hear big trucks rumbling by all the time, especially if your room is near the road. It bothered me a bit while I was in the room, though earplugs let me sleep fine. Light sleepers may want to avoid it. I wonder if the rooms at the back of the car park are quieter. If I returned, I’d try to arrange one farther from the road, probably by calling. There’s no convenience store really within walking distance, and the nearby restaurants are mostly standard family-style places. The free frozen meal is a nice extra, and reception has a few basic toiletries, including earplugs. The vending machine sells soft drinks and beer, but takes cash only. I barely had enough for water, so a cashless option would be welcome.
