Hirayama Onsen Ueda-ya

The food was delicious, though the portions are generous, so arrive hungry or work up an appetite in the hot springs. We paid extra for sea bream rice, and it was worth it. I was already full, but the dashi ochazuke went down in no time. The homemade warabimochi at breakfast was the best I've ever had. My family and I stayed one night. The room was clean and roomy, with high-quality amenities. I was surprised to find Häagen-Dazs in the freezer. The covered open-air bath was spacious and could be used as often as we wanted. Having a beer while relaxing there alone was wonderful. Washing up is done in the indoor shower room, not beside the open-air bath. The spring was just what you'd expect from Hirayama Onsen. The staff's hospitality, the room, and the food made the high price feel worthwhile. I'm very satisfied and would love to come back for an anniversary or another special occasion.

I stayed one night in the VIP Room, from October 26 to 27. My name is Baek. I couldn't find any Google reviews from Koreans, so I suspect we may be among the first. The hospitality was touching, and the food was excellent. This is by far the best ryokan I've visited. I was especially moved by the staff's gentle smiles and their effort to translate the menu into Korean and explain it to us. Thank you. It was the best trip, and if I return to Kyushu, I'll definitely stay here again.

My husband and I have been traveling together for 15 years and have stayed at all kinds of inns. Ueda-ya was the best we've been to. The food, rooms, hot springs, even the tableware were all wonderful. Everyone there was warm and kind, and I'm so glad we chose Ueda-ya. I'd definitely stay at Ueda-ya again on another trip to Kyushu.

The room was well equipped, with a water server, Häagen-Dazs, and a gas fan heater. The open-air bath was easy to reach from either the room or the shower area. Service was great and the food was tasty overall. The servings were generous, and I especially liked the sasamochi tofu and the desserts served at night and in the morning.
