Business Hotel Ueno

This calm business hotel has been in Yuda Onsen for a long time. It had been a while since my last visit, and I found it nicely renovated and looking clean, perhaps rebuilt? There's also a large hot spring bath. It seemed like a good fit for traveling alone.

The room was very clean and the staff were really friendly. I went to the hot spring early in the morning, but the tub was full of rubbish and the water was dirty. I got in, looked down, and got right back out. I'd washed before entering, but ended up washing again, lol. I guess that's what happens at a business hotel rather than a hot spring inn!

At 7 a.m. I was jolted awake by a loud TV alarm I hadn't set, then had to watch the morning news. The toilet had also been trickling water from check-in onward, and that sound really bothered me when I was trying to sleep. Shampoo suds in the bathtub drained very slowly, probably because the pipes were clogged, which was a hassle. Hmm, barely three stars... 😩

The room was clean and I had no trouble staying there. It felt like the ultimate business hotel, though there were only two outlets and they were awkward to plug into. There was no air conditioning either. To get to and from the parking lot you have to drive along the side of the hotel, where there's room for only one car. The lot itself is small, and I think a regular car would have trouble getting through.
