The hosts are the kind of people you quickly grow fond of, so accommodating and kind. The guesthouse itself is great, with the usual setup of a shared shower and washroom. Getting there is the tricky part: public transit can be confusing if you don't understand the language, so plan the route ahead. The bus from Gotemba station costs about 1200 yen per person. It's easier to buy tickets at the station, where they can also point you to the right bus stop.

The guesthouse is run by a friendly older couple. There isn't breakfast, but the common room has a microwave, hot water, tea, and coffee. The heaters are warm and the hot baths all worked smoothly. I highly recommend the place for its comfort and clear view of Yamanakano Lake!
