The hotel’s Swiss and alpine theme runs through the whole place, with a charming chalet feel and lots of thoughtful detail. Many of the paintings are from davos/klosters. We had a wonderful five-day family stay, and our room had plenty of space for three. The staff at reception and in the restaurants were attentive and helpful, taking time to answer our questions. The Christmas Eve event was also very well organized. Being right on the slope, with a walk-through ski room, was so convenient. The indoor and outdoor onsens were a relaxing oasis, and both restaurants served excellent food. The provided cosmetics were lovely. I regret not buying some to take home after checkout.

The hosts were nice, and the rooms were really comfortable. The hotel restaurants were great, especially the Japanese one, though they’re on the expensive side and still worth it. A great winter stay, with a good ski and snowboard rental area and a great slope.

The staff were friendly and professional throughout our stay at the Okushiga Phoenix Hotel. We really enjoyed the wonderful, relaxing onsen, and the Italian dinner was simply perfect.

We stayed five nights and will definitely come back. The hotel has a top location for ski-in/ski-out, delicious food, and professional, very helpful staff. Great facilities too, including an onsen, pool, sauna, and cold bath. Highly recommended!

If you’re skiing at Okushiga Kogen, stop by here. The service was great, and the public lounge has fantastic views.
