Hotel White Inn Kitashiga

The dinner was very tasty: a five-course meal with nine little appetizers, soup, two medium-sized entrees, and dessert. Breakfast was just alright for me, though my Japanese friends ate quite a bit. The staff were warm and kind, and the hotel was fantastic, if a little old. It's close to the bottom of the slopes and the bus terminal, with a convenience store nearby. When we visited, the entrance facing the ski slopes was buried in snow and locked, so we had to take the long way around to get in.

The service was excellent, and breakfast and dinner both had a good spread.

There was a lot to like in the room, especially the space and large bathtub, and the service was great. Lift tickets were discounted, and the buffet breakfast mixed Japanese and Western food. I especially liked the flaky croissants. It was good value for money, with a bus stop less than five minutes away and a convenience store nearby. It's a bit of a walk to the slopes and nearest lift. The front desk was sometimes empty, so we waited a little in the morning to check in. Early check-in is at 11:00, and there are lockers and changing rooms in the basement. Late checkout was available until 16:00.

The room nuts were so good that I bought some to take home. I was here to snowboard at Ryuo Ski Park, and the short distance to the slopes made the location great. The building was clean and comfortable, and it even has a hot spring inside.
