The food was much better than we expected, and renting gear was quick and easy. It's a nice, tidy little place a few minutes from the ski slope. The room wasn't very quiet during the day, but nighttime was fine. There was only one shower room, on the first floor, so showering could be inconvenient, especially on busy evenings. Everything else suited our ski trip perfectly.

There were leftover onigiri and plastic in our room, and the lodge wasn't clean enough. The owner let another group leave their luggage in the room we'd checked into while we were out, which could have led to lost belongings. You can only get hot water for showers at certain times in the evening, not in the morning, and the shower area is so small that guests have to wait a long time. The rental area was cramped, so getting clothes and gear took a long time, especially for a large group. The clothes and gloves smelled very bad, as if they hadn't been cleaned properly. The owner also spent too long explaining unnecessary hotel information and answered questions I hadn't asked.

Getting to the ski lifts takes about a five-minute walk up a slight incline, and this budget place is popular with students in ski season. The owner was really nice, the food was excellent, and the small rooms were clean. There isn't a bath in the hotel, so you have to pay 400-1000 yen at another hotel. Check-in and sorting out ski gear were a bit slow because a large group was arriving, and the walls are a little thin.

The owner was so friendly that it felt like visiting an uncle's family, and our middle school-aged niece was very happy with the stay. Takai Fuji Ski Resort is just a three-minute walk away, a small hill that's great for beginners like us. We'll definitely return. Our one-night stay started February 19, and although the inn is old and the room and bath are both on the small side, it was warm and welcoming. We had two beds with lofts, a clothes rack, good heating, and Wi-Fi; ask the owner for the password. The second-floor toilet's hand basin had very little water, so we used the bathroom downstairs. We didn't see any stink bugs, but a room notice warned they might get in if the door was left open. Dinner was vegetable-filled hot pot, with plenty of cooked white rice, which was the best part. Breakfast was simple, with natto, mackerel, and salad, and the rice was delicious. There was no beer in the vending machine, but a convenience store was a three-minute walk away. The women's bath fits only about three people. A hotel five minutes away had a hot spring, without an open-air bath, for 1,000 yen at the time. We arrived at noon and a room was ready, so we paid extra to use it; we also paid extra to check out later the next day. Some reviews complain about the fee, but extending a stay naturally costs more. It saved us a lot of hassle with our luggage. It was a wonderful experience and ski trip. Thanks for the hospitality.

The lodge is very close to the ski resort, an easy walk, and the owner was friendly. It has the slightly dated feel of a typical old lodge, but it was very clean and good value for money. Dinner portions were generous, with warm hot pot that hit the spot after skiing. The rice and vegetables were delicious, and you could taste the care in the homegrown produce. Fresh vegetables like that were a lovely surprise at a ski lodge. A good fit for students or ski enthusiasts. Thank you! 🙏
