Hotel Stay Yokohama

I stayed several nights for an event nearby. The area is an entertainment district and gets crowded at night, but being close to the station with several convenience stores nearby was handy. The room was roomy enough to open my suitcase. It had YouTube on the TV, Wi-Fi for reading lots of magazines and comics for free on my phone, plus a microwave and coffee maker. That made for an enjoyable stay. The front desk staff were very kind, and despite the problems, thank you. There was a slight smell in the room and quite a few flying insects. On the first day, I was shocked to find used contact lenses on the table beside the bed, presumably left by a previous guest. The cleaning didn't feel thorough. The bathroom shower leaked quite strongly from the outside, so I had to hold it down while showering. I was really surprised at first, so a warning notice would help people be prepared. The room menu also seemed a bit out of date. A parfait looked delicious, but when I searched for the shop, it had closed. I asked the front desk how to use USEN, but they said it wasn't available.

The room and bathroom were spacious, and the coffee machine and microwave were a nice bonus. Family Mart, Seven-Eleven, and other convenience stores were within walking distance. The walk from Kannai Station was a little scary, past love hotels and dark alleys that didn't feel safe.

The room is spacious and clean, though you can tell the hotel is old. It feels open, with windows in the room, toilet, and bathroom, and it's stocked with a TV, coffee machine, kettle, microwave, disposable slippers, gowns, and a hair dryer. The decor isn't gaudy like most love hotels, and there are no condoms or sanitary napkins, so it doesn't feel like one inside. The staff were very friendly. Wi-Fi is available, and you can leave your key when you go out. It's only a 4-minute walk from Hinodecho Station on the Keikyu Line, and Noge's lively drinking district is also walkable. Still, the area along the Ooka River is packed with love hotels, the place next door is one too, and this hotel's entrance has a very love hotel feel. It was Sunday and all the hotels were expensive, so I reluctantly chose a 4-hour day-use plan, 7,000 yen plus 1,000 yen for parking, 8,000 yen total. They had individually packaged cleanser, lotion, emulsion, serum, and other amenities at the front desk, and also handed out body sponges, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, shavers, and more. Prices seem quite high on weekends. Weekdays look cheaper for both overnight and short stays, so I'd like to come again on a weekday.

The bathroom was a welcome surprise: it’s huge, with a separate shower, and I could relax in the tub after work. I also liked the coffee setup, which came with two capsules, milk, and sugar. Breakfast was a bento from the front desk that I could heat in my room, though I’d probably stay overnight and eat near the station next time. I was here on a business trip. The hotel sits in the middle of Noge’s entertainment district, and the remodeled interior still gives away its former life as a love hotel. The room itself is dated, but the big bed, sofa, and low table make it good value for business travel, especially at the price for this area.
