Quad Inn Yokote

We were cycling through Japan and stayed here for three nights during bad weather. It was a good place to regroup on a long trip, with friendly, helpful staff, and we managed fine with our very basic Japanese. Our room was quiet and nice, with big windows for a Japanese hotel and comfortable beds. There’s a hot water heater/thermos so you always have hot water, a good fan for white noise, and a nice mini fridge. The bath house was nice too, though very busy because locals use it a lot during the day and evening. For a few comforts from home, Starbucks and McDonald’s are right next door. Yamaya is a great liquor shop about a 2 km walk away, and there’s coin laundry on the third floor for ¥300.

The staff were very polite, and our room was clean, spacious, and stocked with what we needed: a fridge, TV, microwave, coffee maker, and sleepwear. My husband and I were given separate rooms, but we could both fit in one room with the bed just fine. There’s also a spa and restaurant on site. I took off one star because the walls were scuffed, which felt like a detail missed in the cleaning.

The room was larger than average, and you can get to the bed from either side. There’s no raised step into the bathroom, which is unusual in a good way. The lighting was adequate.

The room was spacious and clean, and there are lots of food options and shops nearby. Service was good, and I loved the complimentary coffee at reception. Such a sweet gesture.
