There was visible debris floating in the public bath, which left me seriously concerned about hygiene and water quality management. The price may be low, but the service felt even lower. I strongly wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially for a special occasion. I stayed for one and ended up feeling sorry for my companion. It was the worst accommodation experience I’ve had in Japan, without exaggeration, and I’ll never return. The late check-out charge is calculated per person, while nearby hotels charge a similar amount per room. That seems highly unreasonable. I asked about late check-out, but nobody explained this policy beforehand. I only found out afterward. I’ve stayed in many hotels in Japan and had never come across this kind of arrangement. The lack of transparency alone deserves a very low rating. Communication was another serious problem. Unless you speak Japanese, it’s not possible to communicate here. When I asked if English was available, I was plainly told no, and staff made no effort to communicate another way. Different employees were involved, but the front desk staff made firm conclusions without properly checking what had happened. It felt dismissive and unprofessional.

The room, pillows, and service were great, and there’s plenty of good food nearby. If you’re driving, ask for a car park number before parking. Don’t park in a space with a cone. For a stay of several days, put your cone in the space you want, and pay the parking fee daily.

Although the hotel is newly built, the service was poor. There was a large, obvious dirty mark on the mattress cover sheet. The manager changed the sheet for us right away, but we still felt unsure about the cleanliness. Even basic amenities were lacking, as they couldn’t provide a shower cap. Please think twice before staying here.

The front desk staff were very accommodating. When they realized we didn’t understand much Japanese, Matsue, one of the women working there, sat us on the couch and personally explained the hotel information. The hotel also has an onsen, key card access, a downstairs cafe, and a buffet breakfast for ¥1100. The rooms had modern decor and lots of amenities, including a flat screen TV and air purifier. I especially liked the dimmable lights and the bathroom mirror that didn’t fog up. The bathroom felt more like a standard North American one than the bomb shelter-style bathrooms common in Japan. This was the nicest-looking hotel I’d been in for a long time. I think it was either newly opened or renovated.
