The room was spotless and smoke-free, and the staff were especially welcoming and polite. Breakfast was included at a reasonable price. There’s limited free parking, available on a first-come basis, and reception is on the fourth floor. I was happy with my stay and would recommend it.

It’s a handy location, less than five minutes by taxi from Yonezawa station. The room is a little small, but all the staff were keen to help with anything.

The public bath had a sauna, which made it a nice place to unwind. Breakfast was also excellent, especially the Yamagata specialty imojiru, or taro soup. The rooms felt a little dated, but they were clean and I was satisfied with them. My main disappointment was one woman at the front desk, wearing glasses and perhaps in her 40s or 50s. When I asked about something I didn’t understand, her response felt condescending and unpleasant. I found it unacceptable, and can imagine some guests might complain. I’d rather not see her again, and she left me with a very bad impression. The other staff were genuinely kind and polite, which made that experience all the more disappointing. I’d still recommend the hotel, but wanted to mention this.
