We were only there for one night, but it ended up being the highlight of our trip. The room looked out over a gorgeous view, and sunrise was incredible. The location was peaceful and handy for the falls, just a short drive away. They also drove us to and from the park and station when we needed it. There were only a few rooms, so it felt cozy and we hardly saw other guests. The ryokan had everything we needed. We had a little bathtub on our balcony, though we chose the onsen instead. Soaking in the warm outdoor bath in the crisp air was so relaxing. Dinner and breakfast were fresh and beautifully presented, and we left both completely full. The staff made us feel welcome right away, picking us up at the train station and being so kind and attentive throughout. It was a splurge, but absolutely worth it for our group of four.

The food and bath were both great. I also loved the mountain setting, with a striking view of the city lights at night. Your falls is close by for a short walk and some light exercise.

Dinner and breakfast were amazing, and having a private hot spring bath connected to my room was a dream. It was my first trip to Japan and I had an incredible time here. I only wish I'd booked another night so I could explore the beautiful town and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere for longer.

The food was Japanese local cuisine, with seasonal meals. The place is beautiful but remote, and the staff looked after us with outstanding service. If you want the full ryokan experience, this would be the place.

The view from the private Onsen was even more spectacular than looking straight down the valley from the comfortable bed. With snow falling around the hotel perched high on the mountainside, the remote setting felt cozy. We were welcomed with personal, attentive hospitality, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. The food was decent and nicely presented, and for the most part delicious. The whole stay was amazing. If I get the chance to return, I would in an instant.
