Takimotokan Yukinosato

It cost a bit, but I thought it was worth it. We were four people staying for just one night, and it ended up being the highlight of our trip. The view from the room was gorgeous, especially at sunrise, and the location was peaceful and handy for the falls. They drove us to and from the park and station when we needed it, and both were only a short drive away. There were few rooms, so it felt quiet and cozy, and we hardly saw other guests. Everything we needed was provided. We had a little bathtub on the balcony, but chose the onsen instead. Soaking outside in the warm water with the crisp air was wonderfully relaxing. The fresh food was delicious and beautifully presented, and we left both dinner and breakfast stuffed. The staff were attentive and so kind. We felt welcome from the moment they arrived at the train station to pick us up.

The mountain setting makes this a lovely Ryokan location. City lights looked striking at night, and Your falls is close enough for a short walk and some light exercise. The food and bath were great too.

Snow falling around the hotel, perched high on a remote mountainside, made the place feel especially cozy. We were welcomed with personal, attentive hospitality, and the rooms were clean and well kept. The beds were comfortable, with a view straight down the valley. From the private Onsen the scenery was even more spectacular. The food was decent and nicely presented, and most of it was delicious. The whole stay was amazing. I’d return in an instant if I get the chance.

We went for our honeymoon, and it’s become a lovely memory we’ll always treasure. The staff were kind and welcoming, the rooms beautiful and clean, and the surrounding nature felt peaceful and healing. We hope to come back.
