My room was clean and spacious, and the host was especially kind. They even drove me to the daytime hot spring.

The private hot springs were nice, and there's a cafe next door run by the owner's son. I wanted to try the food there, but it was only served in-house and they didn't offer takeout, so it didn't work with my schedule. The owner is a very kind older man, and I can see why people praise the friendly service so much. He quickly sorted out a reservation problem my sister had made by mistake. Rooms in Yufuin are expensive, so this is a great place to stay there.

The owner was so kind and shared lots of good restaurant recommendations, which made the trip more memorable. I also appreciated the lockers available after check-in for a 100 yen deposit. They were big enough for about three large suitcases. The location was really handy, with a Lawson about a five-minute walk from the station and a 7-Eleven I spotted on the way back. The room seemed renovated, and the toilet and bathroom were clean and well kept. I was glad to find an induction stove and pots in the kitchen area.
