The best part was the private hot spring, and the price was very reasonable. We spent one night at this traditional Japanese inn over the New Year Holidays. It’s a bit far from the station, but still very worth staying at. We got a large, comfy room for two with an inside toilet, herb tea, yukata, a light cotton kimono used as a bathrobe, and other amenities. Highly recommended!

You can see Yufu mountain well from this hostel, and it has a beautiful garden and a delicious breakfast. The price is reasonable, the room is clean, and there’s a private hotspring bath available from noon to afternoon. I’d suggest staying here on a Japan trip. Other hotels in Yufuin are relatively more expensive and have an inferior view.

The orchids had beautiful colours, and there were lots of flowers to look at. The small shop doesn’t have much to buy, but it’s still worth a look for the orchids. They also gave me a small cup of tea.

It has a quiet, comfortable suburban feel, with fresh air. Free bicycles are available, and breakfast is simple, just bread and soup. The owner's homemade jam is delicious 😋 You can book a hot spring bath in the evening 🩷. If you want to soak in the morning, you can come back without booking ahead. It’s a bit far from Lake Kinrin, but everything else is great. Driving to Yufuin is more convenient. Highly recommended 👍
