Wow, this place is amazing. The front desk manager speaks English quite well, so it was easy to communicate with him. I recommend taking the train from Fukuoka to Yufuin in winter. I tried to drive there with my family, but snow stopped us on the first night. We had to leave our car in Hita and take the train to Yufuin because the weather made the roads difficult. Overall, Yufuin is beautiful and the onsen is amazing. The water definitely seems to have some healing properties. I recommend using the private onsen rather than the public one. In my opinion, the private onsen water was much better. It’s free to use; you just need to ask for the private keys. The breakfast was amazing, the service was top notch, and everyone was very helpful. The rooms were nice, too. We also used their massage partner service and had a great experience. Everything about this place was amazing, and my family and I will definitely return. We could only stay one night this time. I heard the dinner is amazing as well, but unfortunately we didn’t get to try it. Five stars. Well done.

The wonderfully friendly staff made our stay. They did everything they could to make us feel welcome and were great with our child, too. The rooms are a good size for Japanese hotels, with plenty of space, comfortable furnishings, and all the facilities you’d expect. Guests have free access to the hotel’s communal or private onsen baths, if you’d prefer to bathe with your family. Breakfast was a rather fancy sit-down meal. It was tasty and had a good variety, though there was no buffet.

This is the best hotel in the world. It should be a six-star hotel or higher. Perfect!

A beautiful villa converted into a hotel. The room is big by Japanese standards. We could open two large suitcases and still have room to walk around. We booked a ground-floor room with kaiseki dinner and breakfast for two. We paid a high rate because tonight was the 2019 Rugby World Cup match between New Zealand and Canada, and many nearby hotels were sold out. Still, the place is comfortable and beautiful, and the service definitely made it worth the price.

Great! Really great! If you drive, this hotel will be your best choice. You can always smell the scent of real flowers throughout the hotel. The hot springs are very clear. They also offer free bike rides, which I really love. Nice free drinks. If you’re driving, it’s worth staying here. You’re unlikely to regret it.
