The private onsen was wonderful for relaxing, and the rooms were large with working AC. The surroundings are quiet and cozy, and there's free sake in the fridge. It's about a 20-minute walk from the station. A foreign staff member was very nice and arranged a cab for us to go back to the station and look around. But when we called to ask the grey haired karen bob lady to arrange a cab back to the ryokan, she was unacceptably rude. I'd never heard such impolite words in Japan. The service was awful enough that I'd choose another ryokan, even though the onsen was worth the stay.

The room's private open-air bath was clean and really beautiful. The inn's owner couldn't speak a foreign language, but kindly used a translator to respond. I'd like to come back.

The natural onsen in the backyard was lovely, with a nice view of yufudake (mt. Yufu). The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautiful, and the price was very reasonable. There was no food apart from a welcome drink and otsumami, but plenty of restaurants and food options were less than a five-minute drive away. I'd definitely stay again.

I had a great stay and loved having my own private onsen. The road leading in is narrow but manageable, and there are eateries near the station.

A peaceful spot to unwind, with lovely hot spring water.
