Yufuin Onsen Ryotei Tanokura

The view from my hotel room was great. I stayed on weekdays and usually had the onsen to myself. They have indoor and outdoor onsens with views of Mount Yufu. There’s a ramen restaurant inside the hotel, and they serve good food.

That easygoing walk along the river and through YuFuin was a lovely part of the stay, even though the tourist streets are about 10 minutes away on foot. The hotel itself was quiet, with a comfortable bed and a spacious, clean room. We also enjoyed the relaxing onsen and a surprisingly good bowl of ramen at the shop on site. Breakfast was fantastic, and even came with a mini hot pot. We stayed two nights and had a great time.

The walk from the station takes about 10 minutes, and there’s a big supermarket along the way. Our room was huge and had a beautiful view of the mountains. It was such a comforting place to stay, with fantastic amenities and lovely scenery.

The private toilet, enormous room, and dinner bento made this a great deal for about SGD 150. I don't eat beef, and they had arranged a special meal after I saw they were serving beef bento. I really enjoyed the separate coffee table and the view of Mount Yufu, and the onsen was great. Staff were polite too. It is a bit of a walk from the JR station, especially with luggage.
