Cold air kept coming through the closed windows, and the house was very cold overall. Heating was only available in the bedrooms and the lobby or living room. The shared bathroom and toilet were freezing, including the toilet seat, unlike most toilets in Japan, which are heated. The bathroom water temperature also kept changing, sometimes too cold and sometimes too hot. For nearly €300 a night for four people, I think the whole house should have heating. It's a pity this issue affected our stay in such a beautiful town. I hope the host adds heating throughout the house, not only in the bedrooms and living room.

The onsen was so relaxing, and the staff were great. My room was clean, too. I had an amazing stay and would definitely come back!

The owner was really nice, and the house felt extremely cozy and homely. The private outdoor bath (open-air bath) is a rare luxury, especially for this price. It's about a 15-minute walk from Yufuin station, along a flat route that's generally well lit at night. Highly recommend!

The station is a little farther away, about a 15-minute walk, but Kirin lake is only five minutes on foot and the shopping street takes two to three minutes. It's a nice ryokan with superb private indoor and outdoor onsens. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

The receptionist gave me a warm welcome. The tatami room was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay, and having a private Onsen was a plus. Thank you.
