I paid 1,100 yen to use the hot spring, which felt far too expensive. I wouldn't bother, since there are many nicer places for one-fifth the price. The building is an ugly mix of renovations, neither nostalgic nor unique, just ugly.

The food was nice, all Japanese cuisine. There's also a small waterfall nearby that takes about 30 minutes to visit. This is a Japanese hotel with hot springs and a public onsen, and the onsen water is piped into the bathtubs in the individual rooms too.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hospitality was good. It's an old-fashioned ryokan, a Japanese-style hotel, with a comfortable room and a good hot spring. Cleanliness could be better, though, and the WiFi is poor, available only at reception and on the second floor.

The staff were polite and kind, and the onsen was very nice. They serve traditional meals. The ryokan has an old-fashioned feel, though its decor is outdated and parts of the place seem a little run down.
