The inn felt so warm and homey, and I was surprised by how extravagant dinner was with the spiny lobster and abalone plan. The food presentation was better than I’d expect at a luxury hotel, and everything tasted great: fresh sashimi with no fishy taste, plus delicious grilled dishes and tempura. I don’t think I’ve had this level of quality at a guesthouse before. The building has a lovely Showa-era feel. I stayed with my family. If you’re arriving by train, check the bus schedule because buses are infrequent. There are no convenience stores or vending machines close by, so get your groceries beforehand.

The food was about what I expected for the price. The room was spacious, which was nice, but the air conditioning was broken and couldn’t be used. The bath was cold, and the washing area was small. Parking is tight and on a steep hill, so whoever arrives last has to leave first. The hospitality felt about like what you’d get at a local Chinese restaurant.

I liked the tatami room with its low table and cushions so much I wanted to take the table home, lol. From the dining area, you can see the ocean, and the owner plays jazz during meals, with lots of records around. The portions were just right. The bath was a clean, typical Japanese bath, with one larger and one smaller tub. The building is a little old, but well cared for, and it feels like staying at someone’s family home. It’s on a hill in the middle of the Manazuru Peninsula. I came by bus from Manazuru Station, taking the bus to the Nakagawa Kazumasa Museum of Art and getting off at Ohamaguchi, then walking about three minutes. From other bus stops, it’s about a ten-minute walk. I visited during summer vacation. It’s a homey inn that feels worth the price.

The garden was lovely, and the inn sits on a hill in a great spot. The place was spotless, and although there was a slightly worn smell, it didn’t bother me. The food was well worth the price: the spiny lobster sashimi was incredibly fresh, the squid was freshly caught, and the hot pot broth was delicious. It cost about 1,000 yen for a taxi from Manazuru Station. I stayed at the end of the year and will come again. Thank you.

The food was tasty, and the fresh seafood stood out. The owner clearly knows how to pick fish, and the boat-shaped platter was excellent. I’d read that the portions were huge, but they seemed average to me. It’s a typical guesthouse, and getting there on foot may be difficult. The parking lot is small, so when it’s busy you have to park thoughtfully or you may need to move your car the next morning. I wish each table had a thermos of tea and morning juice, since they aren’t refilled. There are two baths, neither a hot spring: one fits about three women, and the small one is for a parent and child. They should let guests reserve them. Otherwise, people in the second-floor rooms may walk downstairs, find both baths occupied, and have to go back up to wait. That could be hard for older guests.
