The owner gave us a warm welcome, and our room was really neat and clean. Dinner and breakfast cost just 3000yen.

It feels like home, and everyone was so welcoming.

The food was very tasty, with average-sized portions, and prices weren’t too high. Most toilets have washlets, and it’s handy that you can rent skis at the inn for 2,000 yen a day. Overall, it’s a nice place, though a few things gave us pause. Towels weren’t actually included, despite what some sites said, and you had to pay extra for them. Toothbrushes were available. The men’s and women’s baths were separate and required reservations. They were free after 9 a.m., but people sometimes locked them and used them without permission, making them hard to access. The bath water was quite lukewarm for winter. Around 4 a.m., a loud backing-up noise from what seemed like a snowplow woke our whole family. The area is probably near a snow dump, and it seems you should be prepared to wake up if work needs to be done.
