Shima Stay holoholo

We stayed in the Hibiscus room. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean, and there was plenty of space. The staff were very nice, as they usually are in Japan. The pillows could be a little better, and be aware that a light outside the window shines in all night. There are places right next door for Cuban food, burgers, and pizza. They also have snorkeling rentals and activities. I didn’t take any photos, but the stay was pleasant.

After a day at the beach and cycling around Zamami, the strong, hot shower in our room at Shima Stay Holo Holo was just what we needed. The room was simple, clean, a good size, and laid out nicely. Even on a humid day, it stayed cool and dry. The beds were comfortable and we both slept well. I could have used a small table, though. The service was friendly, and the hotel was easy to find and very convenient, about five minutes from the ferry terminal. We’d stay here again.

The owner and his family were incredibly friendly and helpful. There are other members of the Miyahira family with guest houses and restaurants around the island too. We ate at the ground-floor restaurant, where the tonkatsu and French fries were delicious and made for a filling dinner. Right in the center of Zamami Village, the hotel has clean, modern, comfortable guest rooms on the second floor. At night, the stars from the rooftop terrace are gorgeous. The coin laundry, ice machine, and small coolers you can borrow for the beach are thoughtful extras. There’s also a large outdoor shower and drying lines. Even after checkout, we could leave our luggage and come back before the ferry to rinse off outdoors and change into dry clothes. A solid choice for a visit to Zamami Island! ❤️

The host welcomed us so kindly and even gave us a beer for free. The place is easy to find from the port, and you can get lunch and dinner downstairs. The food was so fresh and tasty, far better than anything we ate on the mainland. Our room was cozy, comfortable, and clean. Just remember to bring your own toothpaste! I’m sure I’ll stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, peaceful time on Zamami Island.
