We spent December 19th to 22nd, 2025, at Coral Beach Resort in Diani Beach with our two children. The budget-friendly cottage suited our family well: it was spacious and cozy, with a kitchen, and felt like home without being extravagant. The resort was peaceful and family-friendly, the staff warm and welcoming, and the value was excellent. We’d love to return. The children had a great time in the waves, making sandcastles, and using the outdoor pool set among the gardens. The white beach and turquoise Indian Ocean are right there, and even with some breezy December weather, the beach and pool were relaxing. We also enjoyed the on-site restaurant’s local Kenyan and international food. Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh choices that pleased everyone. It was easy to get around with the little ones. The Diani shopping center, banks, and other restaurants were a short walk away, so we could pop out for shopping or dinner. A fantastic short festive-season holiday for two adults and two kids.

The first two nights were lovely: our room had an ocean view, the AC was okay, and breakfast was excellent. The kitchen and bar staff gave great service in the mornings and afternoons. The third night was a different story. We had to move to the only room available, where noise continued late and started again early Sunday morning. The bathroom leaked and smelled terrible, and although the AC was described as working “fine,” it never cooled the room. It was hotter inside than outside, and the loose roof fan made a lot of noise while spinning. When we raised the problems and said we didn’t want to pay for that room, reception was rude. The receptionist spoke with other guests during our conversation and answered the phone while talking to me. She also insisted there was no noise and that the AC was very good. Our concerns, which were also passed to manager Stalix, were not heard or dealt with, and nobody tried to help or offer compensation. What began as a great holiday left us feeling disrespected, lied to, and very disappointed. Manager Stalix was not service-minded when something unexpected happened, and the resort’s attitude was the opposite of “customer knows best,” even after we were questioned and gaslit. I do NOT recommend this resort. Be wary of visiting.

It was just horrible for $100 in the off season. There was no light, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, the toilet was terrible, and the towels had huge red and orange stains. The woman at reception is another story: she openly flirted with my husband and demanded a tip in a really pushy way. They wouldn’t take a card and definitely wanted cash. They also asked for Mpes to be sent to a personal number instead of the hotel account. We’ll never come back.

The atmosphere was calm and inviting, a nice break from busy city life. The staff were friendly and professional every time, and seemed keen to help with requests. My room was spacious, spotless, and elegantly furnished, with a comfortable king-sized bed and a beautiful lake view from the balcony. The bathroom was modern and had good toiletries. Check-in was smooth too, with a warm welcome from the staff. I stayed for a four-night weekend getaway, and the experience exceeded my expectations.

The cottage was run-down, with stuffy, mouldy rooms and a kitchen short on supplies and infested with dudua. The area outside was dirty and unkempt, and the cottage hadn’t been prepared when we arrived. Then it rained, the roof leaked, and the rooms flooded. Wueh, pure pain. Sorry, I can’t recommend it.
