Diani Sea Resort - All Inclusive

I was considering spending my last two nights at Diani Sea Resort, but after this experience I won’t stay there, and I’d advise other Americans visiting Diani to avoid it. It was absolutely shameful. I was sitting on the beach in front of the resort, which was completely empty, when Gordon, a security guard, came over with another guard carrying a club. He made me leave in a very unpleasant way, saying the hotel reserved the beach and water for its residents. I wasn’t bothering anyone. When I showed him the Kenyan law stating that beaches are public, he became hostile, wouldn’t let me take a picture, and threatened to call the police.

Dominic deserves a shoutout for being super friendly. The staff overall were very welcoming and accommodating, and our rooms were spacious with a great beach view. The food, though, was horrible: cold, bland, and the potatoes always tasted like leftovers. The drinks were very watered down too. Aside from that, it was a great stay.

The waiters and animation team gave great service and made my stay really fun. The activities they offered were top notch. It’s a wonderful place to visit and clear your mind, and I’d definitely come back.

The team made the stay from arrival to departure. Every staff member we encountered across the departments put in their best to make sure guests were well looked after, and they absolutely deserve the five stars. We slept well every night in an immaculate room overlooking the gardens and pool. It was serviced daily unless we put a tag on the door asking otherwise. Beyond the room, the grounds are a well-tended garden leading back to a beautiful beach. Meals were well prepared and presented, with enough variety to suit different preferences. There were regular daytime activities for anyone who wanted to join in, and talented entertainment every evening, something different each night. The entertainment and bar wrapped up at a reasonable time, so guests could get a good night’s sleep.
