The Swimming Ostrich

We had a great time with the super host. The place was A1, and the service was too. It was very clean, with a big compound and lots for kids: toys, games, a trampoline, hammock, darts, table tennis, a pool, and a basketball court with balls.

The pool was the main draw for hanging out, and the staff kept the property very clean. I booked a three-bedroom house for my family over Easter through Airbnb. It’s set quite far in from the main road, though Bolt and Uber were easy to get at any time. Chef Maureen can prepare selected meals if you request her, but let her know ahead of time if plans are delayed. Mr. Phidallice is the onsite manager. The internet wasn’t stable. If you need to work online, as we did, bring your own portable router. The bigger problem came on our last day, when the electricity went out completely. We called the manager about checking out, and he gave several explanations: a meter failure, tokens not recharged, and technicians working on it. I couldn’t understand why the surrounding area, including the manager’s house, had power while only our home was without it. The night was miserable and unbearably hot. When we were leaving the next morning, the lights came back just as we were closing the door. It didn’t seem necessary for the power to be off all night. A high-power generator would help prevent outages, and the WiFi routers could be upgraded for a steadier, faster connection.

The Swimming Ostrich is a beautiful place with helpful staff, and I loved my stay. Chef Maureen’s meals were amazing, so I’d recommend asking for her services. I hope to stay longer next time.
