The food and drinks were really good, and the service was a 10/10. It’s a lovely spot to spend time outdoors, with a beautiful garden. I wasn’t keen on the view from the windows, though. They’re old-style and let people see in from outside.

I took my mum there for her birthday lunch, and Jane was so kind and attentive. The chef even managed my last-minute request for a surprise cake. The food was scrumptious, and the gardens are magnificent. The cottages feel cosy and nostalgic too. One of the best places for entertainment in Embu, with excellent customer service. I highly recommend it.

We stayed here with family over Valentine’s weekend. The location is still a big plus, but the rooms feel outdated and don’t seem worth the price. My kids’ shower wouldn’t heat up, so they had to use mine. At one point we couldn’t open the door and had to call reception for help. The locks need serious servicing, and there are no landlines in the rooms, so you have to use your phone to reach staff. The food was about 3.5/5. The hotel needs a major upgrade to keep up with the growing competition.

A good place to catch up with friends if you prefer somewhere quiet. The bone soup is delicious, and the service is friendly.

I visited in February and really liked the service. It’s a four-star restaurant along the Embu-Meru Highway, handy for meetings, with luxurious accommodation and world-class customer care.
