That tent hanging right by the river was such a special, almost magical experience. I had a lovely solo weekend away, with beautiful views and a peaceful, fresh feeling throughout the place. Rafting was another big highlight, and our guide made it so much fun. Everyone was welcoming, especially Carol, who really is one of a kind. I’d love to come back with friends next time.

We had a great time rafting in the duckies, and the instructors were brilliant. The setting is beautiful and really relaxing, and the food was tasty, generous, and easy to adapt to our dietary needs. We stayed here both before and after climbing mount Kenya. The rooms were comfortable, with good showers and a lovely terrace. Having two pools was handy when we wanted to get away from the noisy kids.

The trip here went smoothly, and the nearby community was welcoming. The adventures are addictive, and the staff were so friendly. Glen and his team, including Kelvin, have us hooked on Savage. Thanks to Anne too, for making sure we left smiling. One of the most amazing places I’ve visited in Kenya.

The accommodation was lovely, with clean rooms, comfy beds, and hot showers. We had great hospitality, and the rafting trip was a lot of fun. Our guide was superb, experienced, and made it feel safe. Thank you!

Savage gave me such a warm welcome. The camp and base feel very natural, the instructors are friendly, and the food was delicious. They also made a vegan diet possible, which I really appreciated. I had a great time with the activities. Rafting, with all the jumping, sliding, swimming, and surfing, felt like a real adventure. Andreas took care to explain clearly and in detail how to paddle and stay safe, including what to do if we needed rescuing. The kayak sessions had lots of games I hadn’t tried before. I guide on a lake too, so here are a few suggestions from one guide to another. It could be good to add more variety to the warm-ups and kayak games, with options like everyone competing, two teams, or pairs. Games could also help people learn skills. Instead of always demonstrating a game, maybe let guests try it themselves. It might help to ask what guests expect and which skills they want to learn, then work out how to get there together. Happy guests make everyone happy. For rolling practice, I’d like more variety in the explanations and preparatory exercises, instead of only demonstrations. Pool sessions before going into the river, and offering goggles, could be useful too.
