The setting around Baobab Sea Lodge is lovely, with baobab forest and the chance to spot local animals. We ate delicious food, especially the weekend menu dishes. The whole hotel was spotless, and my room was the cleanest I can remember staying in. It had AC, too. I felt looked after from start to finish. Everyone was kind and ready to help, and you could ask for anything and get an answer. Thanks to all the cleaners, bartenders, waitresses, receptionists, chefs, massage therapist, gardeners, security guards, and the rest of the crew. You were wonderful. We really appreciated our stay.

The grounds are lovely, with a great pool and walking paths, and the hotel is easy to reach since it sits along the road. Staff were welcoming, including the friendly, professional security team. The rooms are roomy, though the furniture could use an upgrade, and the conference room has plenty of space but needs better sound equipment and ACs. WiFi was extremely poor. If they improve the connection, this could feel much more like a home away from home.

The location is convenient, and the staff were kind, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. The bathrooms were a problem, with showers and taps that didn't work properly. The rooms felt stuffy and outdated, and the mattresses were old enough to leave me worried about backaches. I spent two nights switching rooms, hoping the next one would be better. It wasn't.

The gardens are well kept, with lots of greenery, and the houses sit tucked among the trees. The staff were also very friendly. But the rooms and restaurant both feel old and need investment to bring them up to date. My room had no TV and the AC didn't work. Breakfast was basic, and the quality wasn't good. For what you pay, it doesn't feel worth it.

I'm glad this hotel is still around. We came back after visiting in 1992, and it hasn't changed too much since then.
