The staff were wonderfully friendly, and the place feels unique. It was lovely waking up to the termites’ spectacular bridal flight, then spotting chameleons passing by at breakfast. Monkeys were around too, and I even saw the very rare Abbott Sterling fly past. A beautiful, peaceful spot for anyone who loves nature, with rooms where they’ll actually light the fireplace for you. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the trekking and bird watching in the pristine forest. It’s a great place to relax, too. The rooms are comfortable, with fireplaces and hot water, and the restaurant serves very good food and drinks.

The cottage was lovely and very clean, and the value for money was excellent. The food and service were great, too. They’re doing a good job preserving the buildings and the atmosphere. It’s not a five-star eco-lodge or safari camp, but I’d pick this place any day. In response to some other reviews, our fire was lit every night and there was plenty of extra wood. We also had abundant hot water. Highly recommend.

We stayed for three nights and loved how relaxing it was. You could spend hours listening to and watching the birds. My husband went on a five-hour hike while I took a trip on one of their well looked-after horses. The staff were so kind, and the food was delicious. I asked the hotel about a driver from Nairobi, and they recommended a lovely lady called shelmith. She arranged our transfers to and from Nairobi.

Such a gem, with beautiful grounds and a quiet, serene feel. The cabins are good, and the fireplace keeps you warm at night. There are nature trails and horse rides, and if you’re into cycling, you can bring your bike. Cycling to Kimunye and back isn’t so easy 😅. I’ll be coming back in the future.
