I’m replying to your response: please tell people at booking that the hallway and conference rooms may be used for parties at night. I wouldn’t have chosen this hotel for a weekend if I’d known. Most of the other guests seemed to be students, which may be why nobody else complained about the noise. Booking.com says quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am. Why list that if you don’t follow the rule, or if you won’t enforce it? I did stay for over a week, and I’ve slept in worse places, so dust, dirt, and mold weren’t a surprise to me. The location was good. But the staff did nothing when students partied in the hallway at night, and that was the last straw. We changed hotels. Nobody offered us a quieter room. You also said in your reply that the hotel was full. How could you have moved us somewhere quieter at 2am? Please be honest. We were lucky to find a nice hotel 400 meters away for half the price :) You could have told me the day before about the renovation instead of waking me with several knocks in the morning. I hope you learn from this. Either be open that you’re a party hotel where people can party in the hallways at night, or train your staff to send students to a club or back to their rooms after midnight. Original review: Don’t stay here. It’s definitely not worth 2000 shillings. I’ve stayed somewhere better for 800. A group of students partied in the conference room and hallway until 2am. Even after I asked several times, staff did nothing to stop them. Another morning, there was renovation work. Staff knocked on my door to make sure I was awake, then told me they were starting the work. Thanks, I’d already been hearing it for half an hour. The room was shabby and dirty, with a musty smell. The bathroom had mold, the sheets were torn and too small for the bed, and the fan didn’t work. The window was broken, so rain came into the room. Traffic noise was audible from as early as 6am. I strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

Staff were so kind that they let me check in before I could pay, since I had no cash and they don’t accept cards. I could walk all around town without needing a taxi. It’s a budget hotel right in the centre, and my clean room looked out over Lake Victoria. There’s also a restaurant next door with tasty food at affordable prices. I’d stay here again.

If you get in late, there’s often nobody at reception.

I went in for takeaway supper and was served well. The food was fresh and tasty, though they gave me chicken back instead of a thigh. The area in Kisumu town is quite densely populated, but the hotel is conveniently close to the Kamas bus stop and Trans County matatu terminus.
