The garden was beautiful and well kept, and the room and bathroom were clean. It’s a good location for a quiet weekend, but the costs felt high. I paid KES 16000 for 2 on room + bf, and I wouldn’t book the cottage at KES 30000. There was no tea kettle in the room, and tea wasn’t available until 10 am. Breakfast wasn’t ready until then either because the cooks hadn’t turned up. We were offered eggs, plain bread, sausage, Banana, and tea. Dinner was brought to the room at 6 pm with a microwave, since nobody cooks after 6 PM. The food was very ordinary, and I couldn’t trust that I’d get a meal. If I went again, I’d book room only and bring my own food.

Thayu Farm Hotel in Tigoni, Limuru, makes a peaceful escape, about 30 minutes from Nairobi. It has cozy cottages, comfortable rooms, and lovely gardens that feel welcoming. The restaurant serves tasty meals made with fresh farm produce, and the bar is a good spot to unwind after a long day. A comfortable, nature-filled place with great service for a weekend away, a conference, or simply some downtime.

We had our wedding here and felt very comfortable in the cottages, especially with the fire keeping us warm in the evening. The venue is lovely and well maintained, and the staff were reliable and professional. We’d recommend it and hope to come back for another occasion.

The service was a highlight, and the waitstaff were polite and attentive. The peaceful setting and pleasant atmosphere made it a good place for a family lunch. But the food was a real disappointment. They put what looked like kale or another green on the fries, and it didn’t work. The greens tasted dried out and reheated. There weren’t many drinks to choose from either. The food quality and variety need attention. The setting and service were good, but I went home crying over the meal.

Amazing place, affordable for all ages, and the rooms are lovely to stay overnight in. The view is breathtaking, 10/10, would recommend.
