AHG Dorado Cottage

Barbara, the resort manager, was very professional, and the entertainers were all warm and friendly. We stayed at the Dorado from the 9th to the 17th and had a wonderful time. The place itself was beautiful, the food excellent, and the staff were consistently kind and helpful.

The cleaning and restaurant staff seemed overworked, and there was very little food. If you missed the call to order, it sounded like you might not find anything to eat. Our rooms were dirty and the bathrooms looked utterly tacky. There were no comforts, and the management was terrible. I don't feel the money I spent was worth what I got, and the trip was awful. I later heard that months after my stay the place caught fire. Coincidence?!

The cottages are huge, the setting is green, and the staff were very kind. The food was more than acceptable, though the dining room felt a little modest. It is a nice place, just not by the sea.

Getting into the water means walking across seaweed, since it covers so much of the beach. It looks pretty ugly. They only clear it from the stretch right in front of the cottage.
