Lions Luxury Eco-Resort & Spa

The food had potential, and my steak was nicely cooked and enjoyable, but the service at the Moda.fashion event at Lion’s Luxury eco Resort was among the worst I’ve experienced. I went with two friends, and we sat for over an hour without anyone greeting us, bringing water or taking an order. Waiters were walking around, but we had to find someone ourselves and complain just to get basic attention. At one point, my friend had to ask whether anyone was going to serve us. Nearby tables were complaining about the same thing. We’d paid for entry and the event, so this level of service was unacceptable. Hospitality should include simple things like greeting guests, checking on them and offering water, and none of that happened. The ambience and food give the place real potential, but I wouldn’t choose to go back unless customer service improves a lot.

A wonderful place to unwind, find some peace and switch off from the world. The staff are gentle and professional, serving so quietly you barely notice them. There’s a free ocean beach 500 metres away, stretching for kilometres with nobody around.

For a couple, the price is 19k with breakfast or 13k without. I paid 10k for a few drinks, fries and chicken. The amenities and beds are ordinary, with mosquito nets, and the owner really should look at the service, prices and decor. If this is meant to be a luxury villa, does that make the other hotels in Malindi heaven? It feels very expensive for what you get. You can have a better experience at places like Q butique and Billionares Club.

We were the only guests during our stay, so the staff gave us their full attention. The kitchen team was superb and offered to prepare special food for our infant. We loved staying here.
