Sandies Tropical Village

The lovely weather was a bonus, but it was the hotel team that made the place so good. Janek and Paulina were especially great as animators, very professional and always coming up with games and activities. We were happy with our stay.

It felt like a war zone, with armed men along the beachfront, and they were incredibly rude. After I came back from the restaurant next door with friends, they stopped me and searched my pocket for money. They took 500 from my friends and kept insisting I hand something over too. This hotel has really gone downhill and isn't worth a kes. Don't be fooled by it, find a beautiful, well-managed place instead. The quality here is low.

The beach boys cheated us, so I wouldn't recommend dealing with them. They don't work for the hotel, but approach its guests to sell trips, and management should keep an eye on that. The hotel itself was a lovely, quiet place to unwind in August 2023: a small property in a beautiful setting, with a gorgeous beach, tidy greenery and clean, well-kept rooms. The toilets could use renovation, but they were bearable, and the rooms were cleaned every day. We ate well, with lots of local dishes, and the staff were cheerful, helpful and ready to sort out any problem. The grounds and beach were clean too. I'd recommend it as an ideal place to relax.

Christine, the reservations manager, was rude when we booked, made the wrong booking and got annoyed when we asked about it. Avoid her. No hard feelings, though. Once we arrived, Samson, Sophia and Dickson at reception welcomed us and made the stay great. Alfred at the restaurant was lovely, and Victor at the bar makes epic cocktails. It's always been a wonderful place to relax.
