Mombasa and Makwetu Together Offer a Wonderful and Unforgetable Experience

We had a great time hanging out here as a couple, and the rooms looked fancy. The service was a bit lacking, but they know what they’re doing, so it didn’t spoil the experience. I enjoyed every penny I spent, and they deserved it.

The nice things they say to get you in don't match what you find once you stay. Drawers are often broken, and when the AC doesn't work, you can complain but nobody seems to care. It’s the worst. The curtains and sofa covers are dirty, and the doors either won't close or won't lock.

The manager kindly let us check in early for our two-night stay in a studio apartment with a kitchenette at Makwetu villas. The building looks attractive, the rooms were clean, and the garden was nice. Inside, though, a lot felt worn out: the tap knobs and door handles were broken, the fan didn't work, and only one light did. Some lamps didn't work either, leaving the room dark in the evenings. We also didn't sleep comfortably. We could feel the mattress springs, whether from poor quality or heavy use, I can't say, but the beds weren't comfortable.

The clean swimming pool was the one good part of my stay. The washrooms need repairs, with leaking taps and paint coming off the walls, and the service was extremely slow. We waited more than two hours for breakfast, and cleanliness was a zero. For what we paid, it wasn't worth it at all.
