Sunrise Resort Apartments & Spa

When I came to Mombasa, I joined my parents for two days at the house they were staying in, and it really met my expectations. I’d recommend the resort to anyone travelling to Mombasa. If you get an apartment on the top floor, the view of the Indian Ocean is great. I really liked it.

The location is in Mombasa and easy to reach. The rooms were clean, and supplies were there. One waiter, an older dark-skinned man who was mostly around at dinner but sometimes breakfast, was kind, patient, and quick. He welcomed us so warmly, he deserves a raise. Erick was good and timely, and I really enjoyed Michael’s service too. The brown lady waiter seemed super unbothered. When you asked her for something, it felt like you were bothering her 🤣 The food was the biggest letdown. Sometimes it was buffet and sometimes à la carte, but they didn’t tell us early enough to order ahead. À la carte took roughly 1.5 hours to prepare, which was highly inconvenient. We asked for ice cream from the 23rd, but it never came, and it was just stories. There was no seafood either. We kept asking for milk and were denied, even though spices aggravate ulcers 😭 There was a cover over the fruit salad buffet that had cream from the Christmas cake served on 26 Dec 2025. We asked them to clean it on the 27th and 28th and complained to the waiter, but it was still there with the old cream. The receptionist Isaac was really good and spoke to us so well on the phone. He was the reason we came. If you want a fancy place with working systems and timely communication, this isn’t it.

The peaceful atmosphere and professional therapist made the aromatherapy and Swedish massage a great experience. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommend!

The staff were kind and welcoming, and I really enjoyed the massage. It’s one of the best places I’ve been for one. I’ll definitely come back.
