Voyager Beach Resort

The food was good, and the cooks and writers were kind and professional. Everything else felt perfect, except for one person at reception. We have a video of him harassing us and calling us names because we didn’t want the buffet and asked for something different.

Breakfast had lots of tasty options, and the staff serving it were cheerful and attentive. The welcome was memorable too: as you drive in, someone greets you with a trumpet. I thought that was such a warm, original touch. My room was spacious, spotless, and just steps from the Indian Ocean. The linen was sparkling clean, and the hotel’s beachfront setting made for a really relaxing stay with beautiful views. Everyone was warm and keen to make the visit special. Winnie and Grace at reception were especially professional and welcoming. Japhither also went out of his way to help with my luggage when I arrived and on my last day. I had a wonderful stay at The Voyager Beach Hotel, with comfort, cleanliness, lovely service, and the beach all coming together. I’d happily recommend it and look forward to returning.

We keep coming back for the kids’ club. Our little ones had a wonderful time, and Jackson, Takesha, Precious, Rebecca, Tabitha, James, and Happy were energetic, caring, and dedicated. Voyager Beach Hotel is a good choice for families with young children, and I can’t wait for all the rooms to be renovated. Check-in was smooth on our third visit, and Anderson, our room attendant, was gracious, professional, and attentive. Some rooms have been renovated, but others feel dated. More dusting and a few minor shower renovations would make them more comfortable. The main restaurant managers and staff were consistently friendly. Olivia deserves a mention for pitching in to clear and wipe tables herself and leading by example. The food was satisfactory, though not the best, and breakfast was much the same most days. I’d have liked more Swahili-themed days for some local flavor. “Michael” Jackson was fantastic and made the pool activities fun. At the main “fun” pool, though, lifeguards should stay alert and avoid distractions like using their phones. A drowning accident can happen very quickly.

We’ve been coming here every year for the past 10 years, and the customer service is what keeps bringing us back. It’s my all-time favorite resort in Mombasa. Jackson leads a wonderful Animation team that keeps visitors busy with games and activities all day. They also look after young children for the whole day, so parents get a chance to relax. There are three pools to choose from, each with its own advantage, and the rooms are well kept with cosy beds. Food is all-you-can-eat and the drinks keep flowing. It costs a lot to enjoy all this, but it’s worth every penny.
