Enkare Hotel

The location is very central, with lots of amenities nearby, and the staff were genuinely empathetic when I tried to check in. I applaud them for that. I had trouble booking through Expedia because the hotel told me they'd ended their Expedia contract some time ago. I stayed in the Premier Suite. Breakfast was a little awkward: we were told we could only have one sausage. That wasn't a problem, but it seemed odd. For the location and the understanding check-in staff, I'd stay here again.

The snack was delicious and I loved the salad, but the service was slow. I waited 21 minutes for a waiter. I even asked one who passed by to serve me after she helped a customer behind me who had arrived later, but she didn't come back. When someone finally did, I asked why she hadn't served me, and she said she'd seen I was busy. Really? I planned to order a meal too, but I couldn't wait another 20 minutes.

Right across from Jeevanjee gardens, this is a pleasant hotel with good food, including their signature soup. You can get alcoholic drinks too, and there's a smoking area on the terrace. We did wait nearly an hour for the bill, though, so service was slow.

At night the place has a lively, almost club-like feel, with great music that gets you in the mood. The hotel sits in a nice spot between Nairobi's busy streets, right opposite a pleasant park.
