Pazoori Stays at Golden Mango Heights

I had a good week in kilimani. The staff were nice, and the place was clean and fairly quiet, though noise can depend on whether someone’s in one of the rooms next to yours. One thing to know: the cleaning ladies threw out my plastic bags because of a law in Kenya. Keep them in your suitcase.

Check the currency carefully or pay in cash. I was charged 2 thousand dollars for a meal that cost only 2000 ksh, and the charge left me down 40 thousand Kenya shillings. I never got that money back, even after going back and forth with the bank. They called it an honest mistake, but I don’t believe it was. It felt fraudulent.

Maggie really stood out. She checked in with us whenever we crossed paths and made sure things were going well. My wife and I were very happy with the hotel: it was clean, the rest of the staff were amazing, and the restaurant service was top notch. YaYa mall is right down the street, with other shops and restaurants nearby, and the city center isn’t far. We’d definitely come back.

The shawarma and the milk tea, called chai here in Kenya, were especially good, and most of the other food we tried was good too. We stayed for two nights. There wasn’t a mosquito net, which made me worry about bites, though luckily we weren’t bitten. I’d strongly urge the hotel to provide nets so visitors from abroad can feel safer from diseases like malaria, yellow fever, and dengue fever.
