This is my regular choice when I need to be in downtown Nairobi. It’s secure, clean, private, close to the international buses, and has underground parking if you’re driving. For the price, you get more than you’d expect when traveling.

Breakfast was nicely balanced, with fresh fruit and juice, and the hot water worked. The staff were friendly and accommodating, so I had a pleasant stay.

The rooms are good, but the receptionist was arrogant and very rude. I had to go find somewhere else. Date 26 Feb 2026.

You’re well looked after at reception, and there’s a lounge where you can wait. Security is excellent, with water available around the clock and a backup generator for power cuts, which are very rare. Prearea is a good hotel and accommodation hub, and the rooms are well maintained. The pillows and towels, though, look old and aren’t very appealing.

The rooms are neat and very clean, and the beds and nets are clean too. There’s Wi-Fi, though it doesn’t reach every room. Water can be unavailable for hours, especially in the mornings, so the supply needs to be more reliable. There isn’t much privacy either, since you can hear conversations from other rooms.
